Recently a question was brought to my attention from the Frances and Friends Forum regarding the kinds of temptation that Christ suffered while here on earth. This person was concerned as they were being taught to believe that Christ was tempted in ALL things including fornication and homosexual acts. They recognized this as false teaching but were unsure of how to defend their position.
I happened on a very good post the other day on the Frances and Friends forum. I felt it was important to answer it in a more in-depth manner, primarily because the questions posed went deep into the roots of the Word of Faith movement. The post was as follows:
It seems that many people have asked about this mysterious symbol on the New King James Bible. The symbol is called a Triquetra and has historically been a pagan symbol. Eventually this symbol came to be used by the Christians as a symbol of the Holy Trinity. Presumably the approximation occurred because of the three shapes that could easily be interpreted as the Christian “fish” symbol. Frances Swaggart
Someone handed me an article recently that contained an apology issued by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams to the late Charles Darwin. The Archbishop believes that the Church of England has misunderstood Darwin and encouraged others to do the same. The Church not only wants to atone for the sin of vilifying the father of evolution but they seek to disassociate themselves from Fundamental Christians who view evolution incompatible with the Biblical account of creation. According to the Archbishop it is time to rethink Darwin’s impact on religious thinking.
Recently a listener sent me an email inquiring as to whether or not I thought "soaking prayer" was of the Lord.
In order to gauge whether or not soaking prayer is a valid form of prayer or communication to God, we must first look to God’s word. Prayer in its purest form is calling on the name of God and in every scriptural example is a done as a form of communication with the Lord. Although at first glance soaking prayer may seem that it follows this model of prayer it does not. Like most lies of the enemy a closer look will reveal a different picture. Soaking prayer involves a trance like meditative or contemplative state in which the adherent is encouraged to empty their mind. This type of prayer seeks to experience God’s presence through mystical exercises which teeters dangerously on the edge of the esoteric. As believers we understand that God’s presence is ever with us and when we come to prayer it is with His will in mind not ours.

I received an email a few days ago which we responded to paragraph by paragraph on the September 3rd program of Frances and Friends. I encourage you to listen to the program when the Podcast becomes available if you missed it live.

No one knows the exact origin of demon spirits although it is certain that God did not create them in their present form even as he did not create Satan and his fallen angels as they presently are. The Bible does not give a full account of this civilization because it is a written history of God’s dealing with mankind on this present earth.
A few days ago someone passed some information to me about a church that claimed sightings of black angels, orbs, pianos that played of their own volition, and even cell phone calls from God! They claimed these were signs of God’s favor, blessing and revival. However, to any true child of God these things are foolishness and nothing more than New Age mysticism. While some of these stories may be made up, there may be some that are actually experiencing these phenomenon through deceptive demon spirits. How can I be so bold in saying that these experiences are not from God? Because there is no biblical precedent for them and the word of God must be our plumbline!

Recently I received an email which raised the question of whether the Apostle Paul was a mystic due to his third heaven experience. Let me emphatically state that there is no such thing as a “Christian” mystic. Many who make this assertion do so on the basis of II Cor.12:2-4, which describes an isolated incidence of Paul being carried to the Third Heaven.
