I John 2:12-13 – “I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His Name’s Sake.
“I write unto you, fathers, because you have known Him Who is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because you have known the Father.”

II Corinthians 4:7-10 – “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the Power may be of God, and not of us.
“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; “Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
“Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.”

Ezekiel 47:9 – “And it shall come to pass, that everything that lives, which moves, whithersoever the Rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and everything shall live whither the River comes.”
Easter Campmeeting 2010
As I sit down to write this month’s article for The Evangelist Magazine, we have just concluded our 2010 Easter Campmeeting. In praying for my part in the morning Services, the Lord directed me to Ezekiel 47:1-9.

Genesis 32:24 – “And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a Man with him until the breaking of the day.”
The Life Of Jacob
In the story and life of Jacob we find a type of every Believer’s struggle, in regard to Sanctification. Sanctification is impossible for the Believer who is trusting in his own ability, his own power, his ability to handle every situation. Scripturally speaking, growth and maturing in Christ is not going to happen unless the Believer empties himself of self-trust and learns to depend entirely upon what God has done on our behalf.

Deuteronomy 8:3 – “And He humbled you, and suffered you to hunger, and fed you with Manna, which you knew not, neither did your fathers know; that He might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the Mouth of the LORD does man live.”

Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God.”
Man’s Inabilities
In this Verse Paul plainly states the moral dilemma of all men. We have sinned in the past and even when we understand how to live for God through Faith in the Cross, we still fall short of God’s Glory. However, this is not an excuse to embrace a sinful lifestyle or to become apathetic and slothful towards becoming Christlike. It is merely the base honest assessment that all men must have of themselves. Man’s personal strength is insufficient to raise one to the level of God’s Glory. Therefore, we must be found in Christ by Faith and we must be relying upon a daily supply of God’s Grace in order for us to live righteous lives. We must admit we are incapable of Holiness in and of ourselves and we pursue righteous living through the process of Faith and Grace.
