I am not surprised at this. It will only get worse. Back when Bill Clinton was in office, they signed the bill that allowed companies to go overseas and hire people there for less money and send the products back over here. This was a major mistake. Hundreds of thousands of people have now lost their jobs due to the shutting down of their place of business and the work has went to Mexico, India, China, and other countries. We started feeling the fallout in the Bush administration, and really feeling it now in the Obama administration. Nothing has ever been done to reverse this. People only get unemployment so long, and everything is gone, including their homes in foreclosure. It would also be wonderful to have all the money that the government has wasted at this time. The politicians were suppose to be looking after us and most all of them have failed. Obama can't fix this people. Probably a big percentage of people need the government's help now or we will be on the streets like it is in Haiti and India. There are a lot of things that could be reversed, but it would take years for it to show up in our economy as favorable. Using America's oil resources and digging for more would help give jobs and make it cheaper here, but Obama don't want to do any of that. Hello!!! So, there you are. It is the same old, same old from these politicians. America will only change when the right things are done, period. American needs to look after #1 and quit "casting their pearls before the swine". Most of these other countries have turned and trampled on us many times.
I believe that welfare is necessary for the short term only. Just long enough to get someone or a family back on their feet. But what we have in this country, starting in 1964,when President Johnson signed the welfare bill, it began a cycle of people who are only used to receiving, and not giving at all.
Most people born into welfare don't know any difference, to them its the norm to get a government check and food stamps or a card every month. They get free housing, free medical care, free food, free money, free childcare...etc. And then they are free to continue to reproduce out of wedlock, drink take drugs, cheat the government anyway they can.
How dare I say all that...well because its the truth. All of
this has been going on for a long time. It's just now being excellerated by Obama.
Why not approve the increase?
People are hurting in this country,
many have lost their jobs, they need help.
They don't have the luxury of taking up an offering
to help them in time of need.
Did not Peter tell Paul do not forget the poor, and hungry?
If we are the Church then the government should not be feeding the poor, elderly, and homeless!
This is the Churches responsibliity!!!!
Not to just preach the Gospel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The church is not completely responsible for feeding the poor and the hungry. It should be the responsibility of the church to pray for these people and help them achieve the will to stand on their feet. As many do not need welfare services, they merely take it. Those people need to be instructed on how to be self sufficient and the church can assist in showing these people how to be self sufficient. That is like multiplying the fish to feed many, while skipping the "handout" part. If you are making post claiming "oh don't stop welfare" then you are the very person in need of this reform. Stop taking and help yourself. Seeds for a garden cost one dollar, plant them and grow your own food. I can recall one lady informing me of her visit to a government office and she said well my (veteran) husband needed disability because he really couldn't work, but they denied him. During that visit she noticed a lady that had come in to ask for assistance, she exited a new Cadillac, wearing gold jewelery. Is it now the churches responsibility to make sure she has a 10 piece fried chicken on her table at night?
Dear friend, I disagree with you. A church pastor is held accountable by god for bringing people to salvation not for physically feeding the needy. Church is not a social gathering or a welfare-based organization, but a place where everyone should equally rejoice the holy presence of god. Basically, the purpose of a church is to bring the world to salvation, and that’s the reason Jesus died on the cross - to save us from the eternal hell.
God does not force anyone to become a Christian; he gave us the liberty to choose between god himself and the devil. We also have to understand that each one of us will be rewarded based on our actions. To maintain such a big mission that Jimmy Swaggart is trying to achieve, people’s support is needed.
Forgive me for being off the subject, but personally, ever since I am listening to Jimmy Swaggart preaching, I am beginning to experience a happiness that cannot be described. I thank god for helping Pastor Swaggart, for spreading God’s word.
My suggestions are that instead of pointing fingers we should take actions. One pastor and one church cannot fight off a system that has been corrupted for so many years. We the people shall take the stand against the government corruption.
Dear home owners, do you know that your paid off home is yours? I am trying to bring some sense in here. Let me tell you, if you do not keep up with the yearly taxes, the government will take your home away.
Let's say, your house is not just paid off yet, but getting close. With a bad economy you've lost your job, and so you can't pay the mortgage including taxes. Do you think is fair for banks and the government to take your home away, after so many years of hard work you put into it? Don’t you see that the laws are on their side? Why are there so many foreclosures? Basically, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Just do a little research of your own and you’ll find that I was right. I would gladly speak up, but without any type of support from people there is nothing I can do. I must assume that we are all cowards. We don’t do anything other than pointing fingers.
The needy should be helped, you can't let them go hungry. Help the sick who need the help. The government is trying to save money on people who are in need of medical care. Why? To make more nuclear weapons!! Is this a good policy, to rather kill more people then help? Are we humans or barbarians??
